Online Billing & Payment

The City of Rocky Mount is currently at work on a new project that will provide new services to utility customers in 2011. A new and improved utility customer information system will provide self-service capabilities such as viewing and paying utility bills online. Customers will also be able to track their household’s water and energy usage through new online tools, which will help identify areas where they can reduce their usage and likewise their monthly bills.

The City's goal is to introduce the core system to customers by early 2011, and soon after, to offer online services. Future updates and information about this project will be available on this page.

Many city staff members are currently involved in this important project; staff from the Departments of Finance, Public Utilities, Public Works, Engineering, and Water Resources are working tirelessly to make a seamless transition to this new system. The City thanks these employees for their hard work and acknowledges their dedication to our vision of excelling in municipal service, performance, and innovation.

The new customer information system is a product of Advanced Utility Solutions, a leader in the field of customer information and utility billing software systems. City staff members worked diligently for a year researching customer information and utility billing software systems. Through demonstrations of various software systems and many reference checks with other utilities, the City selected Advanced Utility Solutions. This vendor was chosen because of the flexibility of the software program and the sound format of the review of business processes and training requirements.

The City looks forward to providing these new services to utility customers in 2011.
