Utility Assistance Programs

UTILITY ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

Rocky Mount has risen to the challenge of continuing to care and provide heating assistance for many families who are struggling. The Winter Assistance for Rocky Mount Program (WARM) assists low income elderly, disabled or recently laid off customers to pay past due heating expenses: wood, gas, coal, oil or electricity. Payments are made directly to the fuel source provider. The program is administered by the Salvation Army from January - May.

The categories of eligibility are: (1) Elderly (60 years old or older); (2) Disabled (must be documented); (3) Unemployed due to being laid off (within last 90 days) due to downsizing and company closings. In any of the above circumstances, there must be an immediate need.

W.A.R.M. is supported solely on donations from the community and various sponsors. Donations are tax deductible and 100% of all contributions are used to help our neighbors who are in need.
