The Senior Programs Division oversees the operations of the Senior Center and provides health and safety information, educational opportunities, leisure recreational activities, and referral services for participants age 55 and older in the local community.

Senior Center

Location: 427 S. Church St, Rocky Mount NC

The Division of Senior Programs oversees the operation of the Rocky Mount Senior Center. The facility is open to individuals age 55 or older and Nationally Accredited by the National Council on Aging and its National Institute of Senior Centers (1 of 3 in the state and 1% nationally). Located downtown next to the Train Station, the center features a wide variety of amenities to meet the needs of older adults including: state of the art fitness center, indoor pool with men's/women's locker rooms, gymnasium, multipurpose room with kitchen, library, game room with two (2) pool tables, card room, and a computer lab equipped with eight computers - all with Internet access and the latest Microsoft Software. In addition the facility maintains several outdoor activity spaces including: horseshoes, bocce, shuffleboard, and a 1/5 mile walking track. Many of these spaces are available for rent to the community.

Monday - Thursday: 8:00 am - 7:00 pm

Friday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Saturday - Sunday: Closed (Open for Private Rentals Only)
