Registration is now open for the city of Rocky Mount Parks & Recreation Department’s After School Program, which will serve youth in grades kindergarten through sixth.

The program will run Monday-Friday from Aug. 26, 2019 through May 31, 2020 at Winstead Avenue Elementary School and The Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences.

Hours for the Imperial Centre site are 2:30-6 p.m., while the Winstead Avenue Elementary site will operate on a 3:15-6 p.m. schedule.

Youth will be provided homework assistance, recreation activities, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) learning, arts & crafts classes and more.

Those enrolled in the program also will be provided full days of care during required teacher workdays throughout the academic calendar year.

“The Parks & Recreation Department is excited to provide after school care for another year,” Recreation Program Supervisor Jamel Pitt said. “We plan to do our absolute best when it comes to assisting students with completing homework and providing a safe and engaging environment for a child’s after school needs.”

The cost of the camp is $80 per month for city of Rocky Mount residents. Space is limited.
