Police officers will also provide face-to-face time with participants in fun environments and will lead ride-along sessions.

“Area youth are important to us, and this is another way that we can meet each other in a positive environment,” Rocky Mount Police Department Sergeant Brad Summerlin said. “It’s always a great thing when our youth are able to better understand how the police department serves the community.”

Registration for the academy is $35, and seats will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
