Summer Camp

The city of Rocky Mount Parks and Recreation Department’s summer camps are in full swing, but space is still available at the various camp locations.

Summer Day Camp is held from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, with locations at Englewood Elementary School for children 5-8 and the Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences for students ages 9-12. The cost for Summer Day Camp is $80 per week for city residents.

Additional camps, called Quest Camps, are held at Booker T. Washington Community Center (ages 5-8) and South Rocky Mount Community Center (ages 9-12) from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. In order to register for Quest Camp, student must be a city resident and attend one of the following schools: Bullock, D.S. Johnson, Baskerville, Fairview or Williford Elementary, or Rocky Mount Preparatory. Quest Camp costs $30 per week.

The application for Summer Day Camp registration is available by visiting the Parks and Recreation page at www.rockymountnc.gov. Select Recreation Services then Summer Camps. A registration fee is not required.

Camps offer fun and learning in arts and crafts, outdoor sports, swimming, skating, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) projects, games, field trips and more.
