Traditionally, the city of Rocky Mount issues a Voluntary Water Conservation Stage 1 notice to its residents between June 1 and October 31 each year. However, as a result of abnormally dry conditions in the region, the city is extending this request to November 30, 2019. During this stage of voluntary water conservation, the city asks all water customers to be mindful of their usage and to conserve when possible.

The Declaration of Voluntary Water Conservation Stage I does not require water restrictions, but it serves as a reminder to all water customers that our water supply is seasonally vulnerable, and that water conservation should be an everyday practice by all.
