The City of Rocky Mount Recreation Services division has two Community Centers that are open for public use, Booker T. Washington Community Center and South Rocky Mount Community Center. Both centers feature state of the art gyms and a media/game room with pool tables, and a weight room. There are also computer labs equipped with Internet access and the latest Microsoft Software.
Booker T. Washington and South Rocky Mount Community Centers also have banquet rooms and athletic fields that can be rented by the community. The banquet rooms cater to gatherings of all sorts, providing a great space for family reunions, wedding receptions and various other events. Banquet rooms rent for a minimum of two hours.
Our athletic fields are your one-stop shop for any athletic activity! We have a field (or court) for any sport you would like to host: basketball, football, baseball, and soccer. The historic Booker T. Washington Community Center is a 4.2 acre site located off the Atlantic Avenue Exit of Highway 64. It features a state of the art gym and a media/game room with pool tables, a weight room, and a cardio room. There is also a computer lab, equipped with internet access and the latest in Microsoft Software. The computer lab hours are 9am-8pm, Monday thru Friday. This facility caters to gatherings of all sorts, with two banquet rooms that are available for rental. These rooms provide great space for family reunions, wedding receptions and various other events. Our banquet rooms rent for a minimum of two hours. Located near the Center is the Stith-Talbert Park, which offers a walking trail, baseball field, basketball courts, and a playground.  | |

The South Rocky Mount Community Center is located off of Raleigh Road. Built in 1979, the Center features amenities that attract both the young and old for educational, physical, and social needs. For the sports fanatics, we have a full length indoor basketball court, tennis courts, a walking trail, a football field, and a baseball field. There is also a state of the art weight room for those who like to work out, a game room for the gamers, and a computer lab equipped with Internet access and the latest Microsoft Software. Additionally, two banquet rooms are available for rental for those who need to socialize every once in a while! They provide great spaces for family reunions, wedding receptions and various other events. Our banquet rooms rent for a minimum of two hours. During the summer, bring your family out to enjoy the Spray Park adjacent to the Community Center.  | |
