The Purchasing Division of the Finance Department is responsible for providing centralized procurement services and warehouse operations to effectively support the City organization in compliance with state and local regulations.

Office Location
The City of Rocky Mount Purchasing Office is located at 331 S Franklin Street on the 4th floor of the Administrative Complex. Office hours are 8:30 AM through 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.

   SURPLUS EQUIPMENT AUCTIONS / PROPERTY SALES
Surplus Equipment:
Surplus equipment typically includes cars, trucks, heavy equipment, and miscellaneous small equipment that the City no longer needs or uses. Currently, the City of Rocky Mount is not conducting auctions for disposal of surplus equipment. Most surplus equipment is now either consigned to the North Carolina State Surplus Agency or sold by online auction via GovDeals.

Property Sales:
The City of Rocky Mount occasionally has city-owned property for sale. Any such properties, be it buidings or vacant land, will be listed below.

TO: INTERESTED BIDDERS FOR 1309 SOUTH WESLEYAN BOULEVARD:
The public will take notice that the City Council of the City of Rocky Mount proposes to accept sealed bids for the purchase of 1309 South Weslevan Boulevard, (a building on approximately 4.0 acres of land). The City Council has established $300,000.00 (three- hundred thousand dollars) as the minimum acceptable bid.

All bid offers are due to the City of Rocky Mount Purchasing Office by 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at which time the bids received will be opened and read for consideration of award to the highest bidder by the City Council. Bids received after this time will be considered as non-responsive and not opened. No bid shall be accepted unless upon the time of filing it is accompanied in the sealed envelope, by a deposit of cash, cashier or certified check, or bid bond equal to 5% of the amount of the bid. No personal or company checks are acceptable as the 5% bid bond.
