1308 Falls Road. Rocky Mount's first post office, theatre, and the "rocky mounds" where Rocky Mount got its name are located in the park. The natural resource based recreation park serves as the central hub for the Tar River Trail and Tar River Paddle Trail. The park offers a boat landing, 3 picnic shelters, fishing piers and a gazebo with a view of the Rocky Mount Mills dam. Battle Park is a favorite among local fishermen for the spring run of American and hickory shad as well as striped bass. All federal and state fish and game laws apply.

1030 Star Street. This 1.5 acre park is located on N. Harris and Star Streets. It has a small shelter, a play field, playground equipment, and a lighted basketball court.

721 Pennsylvania Avenue. This 4.2 acre site is located on Carolina and Pennsylvania Avenue. The center has a gym, auditorium, meeting rooms, arts and crafts room, game room, TV room, exercise room, kitchen, and playground equipment.
1731 Branch Street. This is a small park with playground equipment.
411 Hickory Street. This 2 Acre Park with a stream in the middle is the city's oldest park. It has azalea beds, a playground, and a band stand.
929 South Grace Street. This 4.1 acre park is located on Grace and High Streets. It has a picnic shelter, tot lot, playground equipment, Little League baseball field, and a basketball court. The park is named from Rocky Mount's Baseball Hall of Fame Player, Buck Leonard.
Located at 4511 Lessie Trail. This park has a picnic shelter, playground equipment, basketball court and multi-purpose field.
1717 Neville Lane. This 3.5 acre park is located on Neville Lane and Tar River. It has a picnic shelter and a basketball court.
Lake Drive, off of Sunset Avenue. This 20 acre park located on Sunset Avenue at the Tar River serves as the "mirror" of the City. Fishing and radio controlled boats are permitted. The park includes a walkway, two fishing piers, an island with gazebo, and a lighted fountain. The park is a popular setting for weddings.
1701 Cloverdale Drive. This park of 3.5 acres is located off Farmington Road. It has a picnic shelter, basketball court, baseball backstop, and playground equipment.
1142 Cokey Road. This park has 2.5 acres and borders Cokey Road and Old Wilson Road. It has a softball field and playground equipment.
1434 Denton Street. Features 8-25 yard competitive lanes, zero-depth entry, spray-ground elements, water slides, diving boards, state of the art bath house, including a family dressing area.
Located next to Pineview Cemetery. It has a picnic shelter, basketball goals, playground equipment, lighted softball field, and a Little League baseball field.
300 Old Mill Road. This 18.5 acre park is located on Forest Hill Avenue and Old Mill Road. It has a lighted softball/baseball field, soccer field, Little League baseball field, 2 picnic shelters, playground equipment, ¼ Mile trail, 4 lighted tennis courts, and a lighted basketball court.
319 Wellington Drive. Adjacent to Winstead Elementary School and located on 32.9 acres, with a little league field with dugouts, lights, batting cages, playground equipment for ages 5-12 and an 18 hole disc golf course.
551 S. Halifax Road. This park is located off Halifax Road, just off Sunset Ave. The 10.5 acres park includes playground equipment, play field, picnic shelter, 2 lighted Little League baseball fields, a basketball court, and restrooms (formerly Easonburg Park).
962 Bethlehem Road. This 7.4 acre park is located on the north side of Bethlehem Road at the Tar River. It features a walking trail that passes by a number of trees with historic interest.
315 Olive Street. This 3.4 acre park is located at Holly and Olive Streets. It has a picnic shelter, fitness equipment, baseball backstop, and playground equipment.
2281 S. Bailey Street. This 2.7 acre park is located at the end of Home Street. It has a picnic shelter, lighted basketball court, playground equipment, and a small play field.
150 Cunningham Drive. This 10.5 acre park is located on Cunningham Drive and has a lighted softball field, lighted Little League field, tennis courts, restroom facilities, picnic shelter, and playground equipment.
321 N. Church Street. This park dedicated in November of 2007 is home of the Rocky Mount Veterans Memorial.

900 Redgate Avenue. This 4.1 acre park is located at the eastern end of Marigold Street and on Edgewood Street. It has lots of shade, a picnic shelter, 3 tennis courts, a small play field, and playground equipment.
800 East Virginia Street. This 28 acre park is located on Leggett Road and is bounded by Virginia Street to the south. It features the Martin Luther King Memorial, paths, benches, fields for walking or picnicking, playground equipment, swings, and two picnic shelters.
1742 Bedford Road. This 9.6 acre park is located on Glendale and Lynn Avenue. It has a picnic shelter, playground equipment, a lighted basketball court, 4 lighted tennis courts, and a lighted baseball field.

105 Patterson Drive. This 3.6 acre park is located on Patterson Drive and Sunset Avenue. It features a small creek, park benches, and lots of shade.
Athletic Offices at 311 Hill Street. This .5 acre site, located on Hill Street and Arlington Street, houses the Athletic Division offices and features a gymnasium.
719 Recreation Drive. This facility is located off Highway 97 West on Recreation Drive and Boone Street. The center is open seven days a week and houses a gym, kitchen, game room, 2 exercise rooms, arts and crafts room, TV room, and meeting rooms. The park includes 2 lighted softball fields, volleyball, walking trail, spray play park, horse shoe pits, and a Little League field.
487 Clayton Street. This 6.6 acre park located on Clayton Street, and at the western end of Amos Street. It has a play field, picnic shelter, lighted basketball court, one tennis court, and playground equipment.
729 Pennsylvania Avenue. This 28.33 acre park located on Tar River, Spruce and Atlantic Avenue has playground equipment, 3 picnic shelters/grill, lights and electrical outlets, 2 lighted basketball court, concession stand/restrooms, tennis courts, a tennis backboard, a fishing pier, a Little League field, 1 lighted baseball field, and 1 lighted soccer field, concrete entertainment stage with electrical outlets, walking/bike trail.

The City of Rocky Mount operates boat ramps on the Tar River Reservoir at Bend of the River road and Old Carriage road on Sapony Creek. Both locations offer bank fishing and there are picnic tables at Bend of the River road. The Reservoir Warden's phone number is 252-442-6933. All federal and state fish and game laws apply.
The Tar River Trail is a 7 mile long multi use trail near the center of Rocky Mount. The trail follows the Tar River from City Lake to Martin Luther King, Jr. Park and connects to the Rocky Mount Sports Complex. 1216 E. Virginia Street. This 3.8 acre site on East Virginia Street is undeveloped. It is located next to Parker Junior High School.
209 S. Vyne Street. This 1.5 acre park borders Western Avenue and Vyne Street. It has an open play space, basketball goal, and playground equipment.
3499 Amherst Road. This 1.7 acre site located at the western end of Amherst Road is undeveloped.
1607 Waverly Drive. This 4.6 acre site, located on Waverly Drive and River Drive, has playground equipment.
