The Special Response Team (SRT) is a highly trained squad that operates within the Rocky Mount Police Department. Team members carry out high risk missions such as rescuing hostages, serving arrest warrants, barricaded subject/suspects, and apprehending criminals who are armed beyond the capacity of regular police officers. Unlike the investigative branch of law enforcement, SRT is focused on tactical solutions to safely resolve critical incidents. The members of the Special Response Team are assigned other full-time duties and serve on the Special Response Team as needed. These officers train twice a month to prepare for high-risk operations.
