American Rescue Plan Public Engagement
The city of Rocky Mount asked residents to share their thoughts on how to spend more than $5 million from the American Rescue plan.
Background
The city of Rocky Mount is receiving $11,521,180 in federal funding from the American Rescue Plan, which was enacted to respond to challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The City Council has authorized the allocation and expenditure of $6,267,958 of these funds for the following purposes:

- $1,267,958 for COVID Premium Pay for City Employees
- $3,000,000 for Affordable Housing
- $2,000,000 for Downtown Development
The City is now evaluating how to best utilize the remaining $5,253,222.
Results of Public Engagement Process
The city held a total of 10 Town Hall meetings in September and October where residents were invited to voice their views. The city also asked residents to complete a survey and/or send emails. The links below contain data gathered from the meetings, surveys and emails.
